What to Do in an After-Hours Emergency
If you have an after-hours emergency, or you do not have a regular veterinarian and need urgent care, please contact one of the emergency clinics listed below. Most are open 24 hours, but calling ahead is always best.

517-787-5807 and leave a message. We will return your call during business hours.
For urgent concerns during our regular hours, call us first. We handle pet urgent care while we are open and can advise you on next steps.
Know the Signs of a Pet Emergency
- Trouble breathing or choking
- Collapse, seizures, or loss of consciousness
- Suspected poisoning or eating something toxic
- A bloated, hard abdomen with unproductive retching
- Severe bleeding that will not stop
- Inability to urinate, especially in male cats
- Major trauma, such as being hit by a car
- Signs of extreme pain or distress
